Percentage of dry wells in RS

Drill the ground in search of water is a solution to mitigate the problem of drought. However, before drilling it is highly recommended to sound the area in order to find the right spot to yield water in abundance and of good quality. Geolectrical methods are the most indicated ones to be used on the sounding.

In the State of Rio Grande do Sul, the percentage of failure on drilling has come down after the 1990's. Applying geophysics on the water prospection helps on reducing the chance of getting a dry well after drilling.
